Change-burns are an injury that results from moderate exposure to Change when venturing inside Change-fields or messing with Change-fueled technology that goes wrong. They usually manifest as a patch of scarred tissue or deformed flesh, sometimes with vibrant pink, purple and blue colouration. Upon further irradiation, Change-burns can spread, and eventually will develop into growths that sprout into mutations such as tentacles or pincers.
Change-burns can be extremely painful and, if extensive enough, may require excision to prevent them from spreading with subsequent exposure to Change. Some reckless treasure hunters and explorers have had limbs amputated because they succumbed to Change-burns too extreme to treat. On the plus side, they sometimes get a cool crab claw instead.
